By posting your classified ad here, you agree that it is in compliance with our guidelines. All adverts are checked by the administrator (yes, a real person) before being posted for general view. Adverts are subject to subsequent modification by the advertiser, we do not wish to censor or police the ads being posted here, but in order to prevent abuses by a few people and to keep this section comfortable and appropriate for our general audience, which includes people of all ages, races, religions, and nationalities, we reserve the right to remove any ads in violation of our guidelines that are brought to our attention. Therefore, all ads that are in violation of our guidelines are subject to being removed immediately and without prior notice. By posting an ad here, you agree to the following statement:

Private Ads:

Advertiser Details: To help fight equine related fraud/crime and to provide a safer environment for both buyers and sellers, we DO NOT permit anonymous advertising on the NFED and ask you to enter your full name, full postal address & phone number when posting an advert. If you prefer to remain anonymous in your advert, you can provide your name, address & phone number by Email & we will send you a user ID to use in place of your details in your advert. In all cases, your details will always be kept in strictest confidence, will not be used for advertising purposes or passed onto third parties with the exception of the police or relevant authority in the event of an investigation. If we cannot trace the advertiser, the advert will be rejected without notice.
Internet Safety: As with all internet sites, you never know who is reading your advert, so basic safety precautions should be taken. If you would prefer to hide your street address & phone number from the public, this option is available on the submission form & is the default setting.
If you have paid for your advert using our shopping cart system, you will supplied with a User ID by Email that can be exchanged for your name & address in all current & future adverts.
If for any reason you do not want to show your details online, but have not used the shopping cart, please supply your name & address by Email. You will given a user name that you can use in all of your adverts in place of your name & address.
For safety reasons, anyone under the age of 16 must have their parent or guardians permission to post an advert & we recommend that you do not show your age, phone number or street address in the advert. Your Email address will be hidden unless you add it to the main text of your advert or reply to an enquiry. We fully endorse & support the work of the Child Exploitation Online Protection Centre. Description: To combat equine crime and to allow us to calculate the cost of adverts correctly, advertisers must provide a full description and price of every individual item or animal. Adverts that do not have a reasonable description of all advertised items will not be approved. Various Items, selection of horses or ponies, call for details, see our website or similar are not approved.
It is your responsibility to ensure that your advert accurately describes the items or animals advertised. When an advert is approved, it is for the items or animals originally advertised only, exchanging these for items or animals after approval is not permitted.
Passports: To comply with government legislation, you must be in possession of a passport for all horses or ponies offered for sale or loan on this site. It is the advertiser’s responsibility, but in the event of any problems or complaints we reserve the right to remove the advert until the passport has been produced.
Ownership: Passports are not proof of ownership, in the event of any dispute over an animal’s ownership; the advert will be removed until the passport can be produced. If the passport states that the advertiser is the owner, the advert will be reposted unless other proof is produced. The advert payment covers the administration costs of posting an advert. No refunds will be given if an advert is removed due to an ownership dispute, but the advert may be resubmitted without payment if the dispute is later settled in the advertisers favour. Anyone found to be posting dishonest or deliberately misleading adverts, will be blocked from posting future adverts.
Advert Prices: All offered adverts with a value of Ł100 or greater, liveries, grazing or stallions at stud are subject to the standard payment of Ł8.50. Providing the advert follows the guidelines, it will be posted when the payment has been received. The standard fee will be waived under certain circumstances at the administrator’s discretion providing all required information is correctly supplied. If there is any doubt to the legitimacy of the advert, the standard payment will be required. When an advert is purchased, you are paying for the set up & original admin of the ad. Once approved, if the advert is removed for any reason, no refund will be given.
No Price Shown: Any advert not clearly displaying a price will be subject to the standard payment of Ł8.50. If asking for offers, please put in the region of, to give an indication of the value.
Full Loans: As it has proved impossible to differentiate between genuine loans & loans with view to buy, all full loans are now treated as offered with no price displayed & are therefore subject to the standard Ł8.50 charge. As far as this website is concerned, if the animal is allowed to move premises, this will be classed as a full loan.
Share, Part Loans, Riding Offered: Adverts offering animals for part loan, share/lease or offering riding with either no contribution or a required monthly contribution of less than Ł100 per month may be approved free of charge at the administrators discretion, providing this is clearly stated in the advert. If there is any possibility of a full loan or sale, the standard payment will be required. If the animal is allowed to move premises, it will be classed as a full loan. This offer is intended to help individuals who maybe struggling with their horse or pony & are looking for someone to share the workload or expenses. If the administrator is aware that the animal has previously been or is currently advertised for sale or full loan, or the owner is regularly advertising different animals or seeking to profit from the free advertising the administrator will refuse the offer. If you would like to take advantage of the free advertising, please ensure that all required information is provided.
Modifications: When an advert is approved, it is only for the animal or item originally submitted. Adverts are not allowed to be modified to advertise different animals or items. The administrator will receive notification by Email when any modifications are made. If the advert is changed to a different item or animal, the price is increased to Ł100 or more or any other changes are made that do not fit within the guidelines, the advert will removed without notice. No refunds are given for advert removed for the above reason. To keep the classifieds tidy, any adverts marked as sold or obviously no longer required, will be removed by the administrator.
Links: Website links are not automatically included with the adverts but maybe allowed at the administrator’s discretion providing it is directly relevant to the advert, i.e further information, photos or video. Any links to websites advertising further items, animals for sale, your services or company or in competition with the NFED or sponsors will be removed without notice. NFED Sponsors, i.e. any person or company with a current paid directory listing is permitted to link an advert to their website. We reserve the right to remove any website link without notice.
Transport Wanted: Due to the complexity of horse transport regulations where transport for hire or reward are concerned we want to discourage adverts looking for transport for hire, but understand that there are people that would like to share transport on a permanent basis. Each advert will be viewed on an individual basis, but in general ads looking for single use hire will not be approved. We recommend that you look in the directory section for a DEFRA approved transport or hire company.
Business or service ads. Adverts for businesses or freelance services submitted to the classifieds which are designed for private advertisers will not be approved. Individual liveries spaces offered will be approved but general adverts for livery yards will not. Employment adverts are free of charge providing they are not in any way advertising a service for payment. Any of the above adverts should go in our comprehensive Business & Services Directory. Please Click Here to go to the directory section. Adverts for Websites, home working, money schemes will not be approved.
Information Ads: General information, crime information or events. We have dedicated sections for news, events, chat, missing horses, etc. These adverts will not be approved.
Riders Wanted or Available : This category is intended for those looking for someone to ride their horse or those looking for a horse to ride. Any adverts classed as loans or share will not be approved, please use the loans category. Adverts offering to ride for payment will be classed as offering a freelance service, so will therefore be rejected. If you are asking for payment to ride the horse, the standard Ł100 per month rule applies.
Approved Ads: New adverts are approved frequently throughout the day, 7 days a week including bank holidays, but please allow up to 24 hours. Only paying advertisers will receive confirmation of an adverts approval.
Please note: Approved adverts are posted in the order that they are submitted (by Ad Number), not in the order that they are approved. Delaying payment can result in your advert not appearing on the front page as any adverts submitted after yours will be posted in front. To maximise your advertising coverage, we recommend that you pay as soon as possible. If this is not possible, it may be worth considering removing the original advert and submitting a new one before paying.
Featured Ads: Adverts are selected by the administrator for featured ads, there is no extra charge for inclusion. In general adverts selected will be paid for or of particular interest for an equestrian website. Selected ads will be added to our NFED Classifieds RSS feed for inclusion on the NFED home & index pages. The RSS feed is also fed to our Twitter & Facebook pages & can be read by anyone using theses sites or subscribing to our RSS feeds.
Rejected Ads: If there is a problem with your advert, you will be notified by Email. If required information has not been provided, your advert will be rejected without notice. To keep costs to a minimum we only contact paying customers when an advert is approved. If payment is required but not received, you will be sent a reminder the following day, the advert will be deleted after 2 days if no payment is received or action is taken. If a cheque arrives after the advert has been removed, a replacement advert will be posted for you.
Equiries: It is your responsibility to ensure that your advert works and enquiries are received correctly by your Email system. Certain ISP’s, anti-spam software or a combination of the two, can identify enquiries as spam and inadvertently block them. Try sending an enquiry to your own advert and if this is not received, please see classified FAQs for possible solutions. We recommend that a phone number is also provided if possible. If you have hidden your street address & phone number, simply add a contact number to your advert text.
Photographs: All adverts will accept a single photo in Jpeg or GIF format providing it is no larger than 150kb & & up to 500 pixels wide by 700 pixels high. We are happy to scan, edit, resize & upload your photo for you, see Photo Help for details. If you would like to show more photographs, you can link to a photo hosting website or we can set up an online gallery for you. See Photo Gallery for further details.
No foul or otherwise inappropriate language will be tolerated. Ads in violation of this rule are subject to being removed immediately and without warning.
No racist, hateful, or otherwise offensive comments will be tolerated.
PLEASE DO NOT TYPE IN UPPER CASE. This is harder to read and is considered to be shouting.
No ad promoting activities that would be illegal under UK law shall be allowed.
If you are under 16 years of age, by submitting an advert you confirm that you have obtained permission from your parent or guardian to do so.
Technical Issues: As with all Internet sites, there will be occasional technical issues or down time. Although frustrating for us all, this is beyond our control and we can accept no responsibility for lost advertising time or technical issues. If we are aware of a problem we will deal with it as soon as possible with information or updates posted on the support forum with links from "What's New". We recommend that everyone makes "What's New" their first port of call on every visit to make you aware of any ongoing issues, technical problems or changes to the site. Major ongoing problems or changes are also sent out to the mailing list which you can join on the home page.
Abuse or Spamming: Please use the Classifieds sensibly. We want to provide an efficient and fair service to all our users and have a fair usage policy. Replacing ads too frequently to keep them at the top, placing multiple ads or abusing the service in any way will cause any future adverts from the same person or Email address to be rejected without notice. If you are replacing an advert, please ensure that the original advert is at least 8 weeks old and remove it before posting a replacement. Any ad that appears to be merely a test posting, a joke, or otherwise insincere or non-serious is subject to rejection or removal.
The New Forest Equine Directory reserves the ultimate discretion as to which ads, if any, are in violation of these guidelines.
The New Forest Equine Directory reserves the right to remove ads that are submitted to the wrong category.
The New Forest Equine Directory administrator will make regular back ups of the classifieds data to enable a rebuild of the classifieds in the event of a server crash or other technical problems. Should the data be lost for any reason whatsoever, the New Forest Equine Directory will not be liable for refunds on lost advertising time. Any refunds will be totally at the discretion of the New Forest Equine Directory administrator.

Trade/Dealer/Breeder Advertising Notice
The Business Advertisement Disclosure Order 1977 came to effect on January 1st 1978 and requires that all advertisements by people who seek to sell goods in the course of business to make the fact clear. This requirement applies, whether the advertiser is acting on his own behalf or for some other person in the course of whose business goods are to be sold. Consumers should be able to tell whether an advertisement relates to a sale by a trade or private seller. It is the responsibility of the advertiser to comply with the Order. It is an offence for which you may be prosecuted not to advertise the fact that you are a trader/dealer.
Any trader who posts an advert must supply full contact details, including an address and landline telephone number, even if they are not shown in the advert. Any trade ad not complying will be removed. No refunds will be given.

Trade/Dealer/Breeder Advertising Notice
